埃克塞特大学政治思想文学硕士项目旨在带领学生研究塑造现代世界的思想家，如洛克，黑格尔，马克思等，以及研究社会和政治理论辩论。课程采用分析和制度研究方法，学生跟随着老师们不同的研究方向和研究兴趣，能够深入探讨英美文学和“大陆”文学，全面了解关于政治思想史的争论，以及从多角度了解金钱，工作和商业，学习跨学科知识，例如：社会科学哲学，科学技术研究和革命理论等等。
